MARCH 2002 ISSUE
===================
UPDATES ==================
Is Spring here? I certainly hope so. My winter
beater car is seriously ill and must be put to rest. The summer
Miata will have to come home a little sooner than usual.
Well, I am off next week to the CoachVille Conference in Las Vegas (or
as a dear friend says - Lost Wages). As a gambler and a coach, I
think this should be a great combination of learning and loosing!
SOAR Circles continues to grow and expand. Susan Zelikovitz and I have
been privileged to meet and work with some truly amazing women.

I am toying with the idea of setting up a Leadership Forum of monthly
free teleclasses that parallels the format of Coaches Forum. It
wouldn't be launched until the fall and if it is a go, I may have to
give up this monthly e-zine. Your input would be appreciated.
If you don't know about the Coaches Forum you can see the approach by

EDITORIAL ===================
FEELING LIKE AN AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLER
As I look at the little blinking lights (pun intended) on my
computer screen, I am beginning to get the sense of the tremendous
pressure Air Traffic Controllers are under. I have alarms and
flashes for incoming mail, appointments, due dates and telephone
calls. You name it; I've got it coming in.
All surface areas in my office look like rows upon rows of airplanes
stacked and ready to take off. Waiting for something to
happen. Waiting to get on with it. Waiting to be next.
Waiting. Only my stacks and piles are no where near as
organized. I even dedicated a half day last week to this
problem. OK, I did it because I couldn't find a cheque.
So now my piles are in fact a little neater but the cheque is still
no where to be found. Imagine if I had lost an airplane?
Here is the good news. Unlike many Air Traffic Controllers, I
haven't turned to drink or suicide. Oooh, seems a small
consolation. Actually, I think there really is some good news
here. After the last three months of 2001, we were all kind of
in limbo, lethargic, and in a state of inertia. Guess what?
It's over. It is time to get on with our lives and our work.
I, for one, am busy AND billable! The storm has passed, our
break is done, and it is time to get back into our chairs and start
coordinating all of our activities to get the job done. Time
to take to the air once more.
I am having a great time and I hope that life is good for all of you
as well.

QUOTES ====================
Like the elephant, we are unconscious of our own strength. When
it comes to understanding the power we have to make a difference in
our own lives, we might as well be asleep. If you want to make your
dreams come true, wake up. Wake up to your own strength. Wake
up to the role you play in your own destiny. Wake up to the power
you have to choose what you think, do, and say.
~ Keith Ellis
Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an
understanding about ourselves.
~ Carl Jung
The only person who I can truly manage is myself. If I manage
myself well, then those around me will do just fine.
~ Ron Short
